MISA, the tactile guitar without strings

misa-digital Stringless, touchscreen and based on the open source Linux operating system, the new geeky guitar from Australian company Misa Digital promises to revolutionize the concept of electronic music.

? In electronic music the timbre of sound can be altered in infinite ways ?, explains Michael, the creator of Misa digital, based in Sydney (Australia). ? For this to be possible with a guitar, the right hand needs to do more than just play strings; Should it be able to sustain notes, make pitches and, ultimately, modify any parameter of a synthesizer?

The digital guitar has a minimalist design and uses 24 frets (144 buttons in total). The touch screen is an 8.4-inch LCD with a resolution of 800×600. It has MIDI and Ethernet outputs. And it uses an open source system based on Linux (Gentoo), so users can modify the interface to their liking and contribute to improving the instrument.
