A six-year-old girl from Bottrop is killed. Now the mother is in court. The charge is murder.
Essen – The trial of the violent death of a child began in Essen with a confession. A mother from Bottrop is accused. The 46-year-old admitted through her defense attorney to killing her six-year-old daughter on the night of January 28, 2022. She did not want to give any details at the start of the process.
The German defendant is said to have initially tried to drown the girl in the bathtub. According to the indictment, she then cut the child deeply with a kitchen knife.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the background to the crime is a custody dispute. The father of the child, who lives separately from the accused, is said to have been granted extended rights of access the day before the crime. “The accused was driven by a deep sense of defeat,” the indictment says.
