Roblox is not a video game that can be easily defined as it is not a game in the traditional line of the word: there are many games at the same time , allowing the creation of many different styles of play, all of them with a childish touch.
But that it is a product for all audiences does not mean that it does not adopt some of the mechanics of current video games. Hence, if you are a mother or father, you are interested in being aware of parental control or the different payment methods, or for the case that places us, knowing how to configure our privacy .
What can we configure in Roblox privacy
From the official Roblox page, going to our profile, we have a section expressly dedicated to privacy settings. If we leave it by default, anyone can chat with us within a game, but only “friends” can send us messages using the app or the mailbox.
If we want to root out all communication, just check the “deactivated” option in the “contact configuration” section. Or customize each section manually, such as that only “users I follow and followers” can send us messages, apart from those who are friends.
Similarly, from this section we can control who can invite us to private servers in their games, who can join our game or see our inventory of profile objects visible from the main Roblox page.
If, on the other hand, you want to be aware of all the messages, there is a section of the profile from which you can see all the messages in the mailbox, those sent, the news and the archived ones. And always seeing the profile of the person responsible.
Message filter, user blocking and reports
Roblox automatically filters messages from children under 13 years old . As long as we have the age of our offspring correctly set from the main profile, the game is in charge of filtering all the content that may be considered inappropriate for their age. And this also applies to the games available.
From the outset, a good way to control messages is the statement a few lines back in relation to privacy (if it comes from people we know there is more security than if we do it with strangers), although that does not mean that there are two options to have in account if we see any inappropriate behavior: block users and report abuse if rules are being broken on Roblox .
- Block user : here it will only be necessary to go to the profile of said person and click on the three points located on the right of the screen, at the same height as the photo that they have as an avatar. Among the options displayed, select the one to block and you will forget about that person forever.
- Report abuse : Roblox support gives us several guidelines to report this kind of infraction. If we want to do it from a game we have to go to the menu (upper left corner) and navigate to the flag icon to report , in this case to the player (the same can also be done for the game if we see that it is not suitable). We select the type of abuse and explain the reason for the moderators to take it into account.
