Rust sets its record for users on Steam last weekend, seven years after its launch

It is very interesting to see how interest in a video game can vary over time, being carried away by trends like a ship in the middle of the tide.

This time, the course is favorable. Rust has broken its record for active users seven years after its launch in December 2013. Thanks to Steam Charts, we learned that the survival play has managed to reach 244,394 players over the past weekend .

Specifically on Saturday, January 16, that figure was recorded. The Facepunch Studios title also boasts very respectable figures on SteamDB, with 245,243 users playing Rust.

The game itself had set a huge mark earlier in the month with 134,483 active players, but just a few weeks later the record has been smashed.

The biggest historical Rust brands had placed it a little over 100,000 users , but it is surprising to see how after so long after landing on PC, it has doubled its maximum number.

The reasons? They seem quite logical. The Egoland server created by several of the most important influencers and streamers in Spain and Latin America such as Rubius , Ibai or Grefg has given a new boost to the popularity of the title.

Last week Rust managed to surpass Cyberpunk 2077 as the best-selling game on all of Steam. In addition, after this conquest of the Valve platform, it seems that the time is approaching to know when we will be able to play Rust on PS4 and Xbox One.
