The Márquez brothers disassociate themselves from Alzamora as manager

Emilio Alzamora, 125cc world champion in 1999 and representative of the brothers Marc and Alex Márquez for 17 years, has been professionally separated from both riders, according to El Periódico de Catalunya .

As explained by the aforementioned media, Alzamora, who during these almost two decades, had not stopped accompanying the brothers during the grand prix, has had two races, those held after the summer break at Silverstone and Spielberg, without appearing in the MotoGP paddock .

The absence of Alzamora, which has gone quite unnoticed by most, was initially blamed on a supposed contagion by COViD or the absence of Marc Márquez due to his injury, but the reappearance of the champion from Cervera this weekend without his representative led to the confirmation that Mac and Alex have made the decision to dispense with the services of their longtime manager.

Neither of the two pilots nor their closest entourage have wanted to confirm the breakup, which in recent years had sounded assiduously, always in the form of an unconfirmed rumour. However, this time the separation is final.

In addition to his matters at the level of contracts with the teams, Alzamora managed the sponsors, communication and image of both drivers through an agency, a job that, surely, was never up to the level of an eight-time champion of the world like Marc. Alzamora’s last service was Alex’s departure from Honda and his signing by the Gresini team, confirmed during the Dutch Grand Prix, before the summer break.
