These batteries do last

Panasonic’s little robot Evoia just broke a record. To demonstrate the life of two EVOLTA (whose name derives from “evolution” and “voltage”) AA batteries, he drove his tricycle for 24 hours on the asphalt of the famous Le Mans circuit in France, covering a total of 23,726 kilometers . Its milestone has become part of the Guinness Book of Records, as it is “the longest distance traveled by a remote-controlled car that runs on batteries.” To carry out the journey, the robot was guided by the infrared signal of a vehicle that preceded it.

It is not the first feat Evoia has achieved. This tiny humanoid, designed by the Japanese Tomotaka Takahashi, also starred in another previous battery durability test last year when it climbed a rope in the Colorado Canyon to a height of 530.4 meters in 6 hours and 46 minutes.
