They create a giant 3D screen in Japan

Scientists from the National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT) in Japan have created the largest 3D screen in the world , measuring 200 inches and possessing the peculiarity that the viewer does not need special glasses to experience the third dimension.

According to the engineers, the difficulties of the project have resided, mainly, in the reduction of the phenomenon known as “noise fringe” . Basically it consists of adjusting the parallax of the images to get the sensation of 3D is perfect and the overlapping of images is not appreciated.

Scientists seem to have found the keys to adjust 3D technology to large formats , which opens the door to applications in the industrial and leisure fields that were previously unthinkable. The challenge for its creators is that the new screen and its successors not only reproduce images created by computer, but also natural and human scenes with great doses of realism.
