The culture of cancellation does not forget. At least that’s what it sounds like in Hollywood as there are a lot of actors who are reluctant to work with other castmates who have serious accusations on their behalf. At the beginning of the week we learned that Kevin Spacey would appear again in a film project, 4 years after the multiple accusations of sexual abuse that surround the actor’s figure. His last participation on celluloid had been Baby Driver and The Young Billionaires Club. This return supposed a timid but hopeful resurgence for Spacey that little by little opened the possible door for other filmmakers to take it into account for their projects. Vanessa Redgrave was supposed to appear in The Man Who Drew God with the actor, but recently denied participation in the new film directed by Franco Nero. The Italian actor and director was very happy that Kevin Spacey had agreed to join the film , even if it was a small role declaring a few days ago that he considers him a great actor and that he couldn’t wait to start shooting the movie. At that time, according to the media, his wife and also an actress, Vanessa Redgrave, was linked to the project. However, in a statement from herself a few hours ago the following could be read: “Vanessa Redgrave’s name is being included in recent stories related to the casting of the next film The Man Who Drew God (…). discussions about the possibility of joining the cast, it will not appear in the film. ”The statement did not mention for any reason the reason for not joining the film directed by Franco Nero. Is it a communication failure of the film?Coincidence that the separation occurs, a few days after the appearance of Spacey? Being the director’s wife, it is strange that Nero himself had not denied that information before. The veteran English actress is awaiting the premiere of The Lost Girls and Alicia through her eyes. For his part, Kevin Spacey has a film called Gore pending release, in which he played Gore Vidal seducing a character younger than him. For obvious reasons related to the actor’s legal affairs, that story will never see the light of day. Will Redgrave be something isolated or will others also resign in their participation?
