Vegan sausages: 2 easy recipes to make at home

Fortunately, it is already quite easy to find different types of vegan sausages in supermarkets and mass consumption stores. But if our goal is to achieve a complete and balanced vegan diet, the best option is still to opt for the homemade versions. In addition to avoiding the consumption of processed products, this allows us to consciously choose the foods we eat. Therefore, today we bring you two super easy vegan sausage recipes to make at home. You dare?

Vegan sausages: Vegan salami recipe with textured soy

Ingredients (for 2 units) :

  • Textured soy: 150 gr
  • Corn starch (Cornstarch): 50 gr
  • Garlic: 1 clove
  • Onion: 1 pc. little
  • Cumin or nutmeg: ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper: ½ teaspoon
  • Oregano: 2 teaspoons
  • Dried parsley: 2 teaspoons
  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon
  • Nutritional yeast: 2 teaspoons
  • Rice flour: 75 gr
  • Olive accept: 50 ml
  • Soy sauce: 40 ml
  • Hot water or vegetable broth: 500 ml
  • Green or black olives: 10 units (optional)
  • Elaboration:

    1. To start preparing our vegan salami , we hydrate the textured soy in hot water or broth for 30 minutes .
    2. While we wait, fry the finely chopped onion until transparent. At this time, we add the crushed garlic, the pepper and a pinch of salt. We reserve this mix.
    3. We pass the hydrated soybean through a strainer (if necessary, you can use a clean cloth or cloth to remove the excess liquid).
    4. In a bowl mix all the ingredients except the cornstarch and nutritional yeast, until you get a sticky mixture, but still workable.
    5. Finally, we add the cornstarch, nutritional yeast and chopped olives. We mix again and separate the dough into two parts.
    6. We give the characteristic cylindrical shape to our vegan salami and roll it with plastic wrap. The salamis have to be tightly packed so that the mixture does not leak out during cooking. We close the two ends and make a knot on each side (as if it were a candy).
    7. We steam the salamis for 40 minutes and let it cool down to room temperature. Then we put them in the fridge for at least an hour before cutting and serving. Chorizo vegano

    Vegan Tofu and Veggie Sausage Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • Carrot: 1 unit. median
    • Potato: 1 unit. big
    • Firm consistency tofu: 1 cup
    • Chickpea flour: 1 cup
    • Onion: ½ unit.
    • Cayenne pepper: 1 unit.
    • Brewer’s yeast: 2 tablespoons
    • Paprika: 1 tablespoon
    • Powdered ginger: 1 teaspoon
    • Cumin or turmeric powder: ½ teaspoon
    • Chopped fresh parsley: 2 teaspoons
    • Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
    • Mustard dressing: 1 tablespoon
    • Tomato extract: 2 tablespoons

    Elaboration:

    1. First, we cook the potato and carrot until they are very tender.
    2. Next, we crush them with the onion, tofu and cayenne pepper.
    3. Add to this mixture all the other ingredients, except the chickpea flour, and mix with a spatula or spoon.
    4. Finally, we also add the chickpea flour and mix well so that there are no lumps.
    5. With the dough ready, we shape the sausages and wrap them in plastic wrap . Again, they should be snug and tightly closed at the ends.
    6. We heat a pot with plenty of water. When it boils, add the sausages and cook for 40 minutes over low heat with the pot covered .
    7. We turn off the heat, remove the vegan sausages from the water and let them cool down before putting them in the fridge.

    An “extra” tip: if you see that bubbles form when you roll up your homemade vegan sausages, just gently prick them with a needle. This will allow the air to escape and will facilitate the cooking process.
