Charles Darwin (February 12, 1809 – April 19, 1882), was a British biologist, geologist and naturalist responsible for laying the foundations of the theory of evolution through natural selection. His most famous work is ‘ The Origin of Species’ from 1859 in which he exposes numerous examples of evolution by natural selection drawn from the observation of nature.
