1. Neil Armstrong, the first human to step on the Moon, always wanted to give prominence to the event and not to the person: "The circumstances made him fulfill that role," he said.
2. Armstrong's famous phrase "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" was criticized because it would mean right "one small step for a man".
But an analysis of the transmissions done in 2006 revealed that Armstrong had got the phrase right and that the fault was in the transmission.
3. US President Richard Nixon had prepared the speech he was going to give if things went wrong on the Moon and the astronauts never returned.
4. After the arrival on the Moon all kinds of conspiracy theories flourished.
The most popular evidence in favor of the presence of aliens on the Moon is known as the Sam Pepper transcript, after the radio amateur who claims that he captured it, and attributes to Armstrong and Aldrin phrases such as:
"These creatures are gigantic … enormous"; “We saw some visitors. They were here for a while, observing the instruments ”; “There were other spaceships. They are aligned to the other rim of the crater. "
5. The astronauts brought with them rock fragments from the Moon. In return, more than 100 objects were left on the Moon for lack of space on Apollo XI. Among them, the famous flag, a commemorative plaque, a camera, an olive branch, boots and even urine containers.
