According to the company, the measure, which is temporary, was taken based on its prohibition to disclose private information of other people.
Twitter suspended this Friday one of the accounts that operates under the name Anonymous in Colombia. According to the company, the measure was taken for the violation of the platform’s rules “specifically our policy on private information.”
The suspension, which operates permanently, was taken against the profile @AnonymousOpCOL.
It is worth remembering that in recent days, the Anonymous movement has been linked to actions against the page of the Army, the Presidency and the Senate of the Republic.
As a result of the operation against the Army page, Anonymous affirmed that “we will sabotage any trend that is not relevant or that tries to divert attention from the systematic violation of human rights that is taking place today in Colombia.”
During this attack, the group affirms that it was able to obtain passwords and email addresses of at least 168 soldiers, as a way of supporting the national strike that is taking place in the country. These data were disclosed through social networks

Simply put, Twitter’s rules on private information say the following: “You cannot post other people’s private information without their permission. This includes content that is illegally acquired or hacked. Nor can you threaten to disclose private information or encourage others to do so. “
It is not the first time that Twitter has taken action against profiles linked to this global movement. In 2013, it suspended more than 30 accounts in the UK from which misogynistic content was posted, targeting activists from the feminist movement.
