All declassified files related to “unidentified aerial phenomena” are now available on the Internet from The Black Vault website, which lists over 2.2 million pages, UFO reports and everything related to them. All this occurs thanks to the fact that within the spending bill of the outgoing president of the United States, Donald Trump, was the Intelligence Authorization Act for 2021; in which, hidden in the depths of it, we could identify a clause that requires intelligence chiefs to present a report “to the intelligence and armed services committees of Congress on unidentified aerial phenomena”, within the following 180 days . They were also asked to identify “potential aerospace or other threats posed by unidentified aerial phenomena to national security, and an assessment of whether this unidentified aerial phenomenon activity can be attributed to one or more foreign adversaries.”
In this recently declassified conglomerate we can find hundreds of documents in PDF format; some of these reports date back to the 1980s. According to the CIA, this document archive contains an exhaustive list of everything the US agency has on the subject. In other words, more than two decades have passed since the founder of The Black Vault, John Greenewald Jr., demanded that the CIA publish all the existing information on the unidentified aerial phenomena. The request has been slow to materialize.
And it is that, Greenewald, fascinated by UFOs since his adolescence, began accumulating official documents making use of his right to information: in fact, the Freedom of Information Act, signed in 1966, obliges United States federal agencies to forward your documents to whoever requests them.
A treasure for fans of the UFO phenomenon
Therefore, fans of extraordinary stories about extraterrestrials will undoubtedly find what they are looking for: alleged contacts with aliens, mysterious nocturnal explosions in a small Russian town, etc. Whether we believe in aliens or not, everyone will be able to form their own opinion by reading the documents, now that they are available to everyone on the web.
The Black Vault organization has been working tirelessly to publish the files they have since 1996, and finally now they are all there, located and ready to be consulted in a handy searchable PDF form or on a CD-ROM original from UFO Documents, a raw version of the file provided by the CIA (with documents in TIF and TXT format, not usable).
The Black Vault states that while “the CIA claims this is their ‘complete’ collection, there may be no way to fully verify it.” In fact, it seems that some documents have been written, or at least the information related to some of the most interesting files has been omitted, according to the website that houses the archives of the CIA UFO phenomenon.
The public has a right to know! Greenewald Jr. bluntly asserts, and the public is really excited about the news. According to the administrators of The Black Vault, the website registered thousands of downloads in the first 24 hours after the announcement of the declassification of files. It is clear that for fans of the UFO genre, if they have time for it, they will be able to spend a long time satisfying their curiosity with the largest UFO information conglomerate to date.
