A meteorite and a small earthquake of magnitude 2 on the Richter scale have simultaneously struck the outskirts of Detroit, Michigan. Both phenomena coincided in time on Wednesday, January 17, at 8 p.m. local time.
The origin of the luminous glow did not correspond to lightning. However, the United States Geological Survey has not confirmed that the meteorite and the tremor are related because the source of the seismic signals is different.
