Best Science News of 2017 – Now We Can Hear From the Universe

Although the bad news seems to proliferate in the media, today we are dealing with the good news, the best news of this 2017.

Why does the media give nothing but bad news? This is the impression that those of us who look at the information windows every day to see what is happening in the world usually have.

But is it an action promoted by journalists or by the readers themselves? The truth is that an investigation published in SAGE Journals and carried out by experts from McGill University (Canada) wanted to explore the theory of whether the public would prefer to read only good news instead of bad news.

To do this, they asked a group of volunteers q ue will select some political news on a website. After this, they used a distraction method such as putting a video on them and then asking them about the type of news they would like to read. Although it may seem surprising to us, most of the participants opted for stories with a negative character, with plots about corruption or falsehoods instead of neutral, positive and happy stories.

Why was negativity imposed? According to the scientists, this study confirmed what is known as ‘negativity bias’ , in which the collective need to listen and remember bad news is evidenced, with the most dire news being the ones that cause us the most surprise and we remember the best because As for good news, we always hope everything goes well.

However, despite the fact that it is almost impossible to avoid news of disasters and conflicts, most sad and unfortunate, the truth is that there are a large number of scientists immersed in a lot of projects, researching and doing really positive things at the moment and they do not usually have as much coverage in the media as they deserve.

So, as a reminder that the world is not all bad news, we have compiled some of the most impressive studies going on in the world right now in the field of science and technology.

Serve this button to open that window of hope necessary for the future. Here’s some of the best science news of 2017 so far.
