The winners of Nikon Small World 2009, the annual international competition that for 35 years has awarded the best works in photomicrography are now known. His challenge is to find the images that best reflect “the beauty and complexity of life seen through the microscope.”
The first place went to Heiti Paves (Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia) and its image of an anther ofArabidopsis thaliana
