A study published in the journal The Economic Record reveals that taller individuals tend to earn more money than their shorter peers. Specifically, Andrew Leigh, the main author of the work, has estimated that in Australia measuring five centimeters above the average (1.78 meters) implies charging $ 950 more a year, especially in men.
Their research also reveals that body mass index (BMI) has no impact on pay. ? We started this project to find out if overweight people earned less, and we found that the interesting piece of information was the one that related height, and not weight, to salary ,? admits Leigh, who argues that the result is explained because height is unconsciously related to greater intelligence and power .
