The chip of the future

intel-chip Researchers at Intel Labs have unveiled a futuristic chip that boasts approximately 10-20 times the processing engines now found within the most popular Intel Core brand processors. It is an experimental 48-core processor whose long-term goal is to bring “incredibly improved” performance to future computers, such as interfaces for communication between humans and electronic devices. This prototype will contain 48 fully programmable Intel processing cores, the largest number ever incorporated into a single silicon chip.

Some researchers predict that computers will even be able to read brain waves , so we will only have to think of a command, such as dictating words to perform this task without even speaking.

Intel Labs has called this chip single-chip test cloud computer, because it reminds the organization of datacenters used to create a “cloud” (cloud) computing resources over the Internet, a concept used to provide services such as, for example, online banking transactions, social networks and online stores to millions of users.
