The platform reported that it will restrict live videos for those over 18 years of age in order to provide “greater security” to content creators.
“Maybe it’s a comedy show that’s more for adults. Perhaps a user wants to talk about a difficult experience and feels more comfortable knowing that the audience is going to be limited to adults, ”details the TikTok statement.
In addition, to be able to make live videos on the platform, you will soon have to be over 18 years old. Within the regulations that TikTok currently maintains is to prohibit any content that involves nudity, pornography or sexually explicit content.
Something that the application does not allow is explicit content, which can compromise the security of the users of this entertainment platform.
Changes in TikTok for live videos
Likewise, another of the changes that were announced is that you will have to be over 18 years of age to be able to make live videos on this platform. Currently, only streamers over the age of 16 with at least 1,000 followers can stream. As of November 23, they must be 18.
However, TikTok has not explained much more about this change, and it is seen as an extension of the current rule (such as the one that requires you to be over 18 years old to monetize videos or over 16 to be able to send and receive direct messages).
