Carlos Sainz activates the mysterious project 674 of Ferrari

Carlos Sainz already has an official date for his return to asphalt and it is closer than expected: it will be this week. Ferrari has announced a test program at its private Fiorano circuit where all the team’s drivers will participate, the starters Sainz and Charles Leclerc and also the tester, Robert Shwartzman . The three will get behind the wheel of the SF21 with which the Scuderia took a big step forward in the last Formula 1 World Championship.

Leclerc will drive on Wednesday and the next day it will be Carlos Sainz’s turn, who will don the red suit again just a month and a half after the spectacular Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that closed the last championship. The one who will have the most work will be Shwartzman , a 19-year-old Russian driver and current Formula 2 runner-up who will get into the car on both Tuesday and Friday.

These four days of closed-door testing will be the unofficial start of the season for Ferrari , which has not even revealed the name of its new car. Everything is kept under the secrecy of the number 674, as he has named the new project with which he hopes to rise to the fight for victories in the next World Cup .

We will have to wait until February 17, the date of the official presentation of the new single-seaters of the Italian team. A week later, the preseason will start for all the teams at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and March 20 is the date on which the championship will begin with the Bahrain Grand Prix .

That day the revalidation season will begin for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari , after an outstanding debut year where he climbed to three podiums, came close to his first victory in Monaco and finished fifth, and first of the ‘mortals’, in the final classification of the World . His ambition and his desire, higher than ever to face this long-awaited 2022.
