When you sign up for internet service with Telmex, the modem they give you comes with a default password that can be hard to memorize, but that can change.
Also, according to Telmex , ” changing your modem name and password regularly will help improve the speed of your Infinitum since you will only share your new data with family and friends.”
There are two ways to change the password and name of your modem: online or through the company’s application.
By Internet
- Sign in to
- Keep your modem on while you make your changes.
- Enter the information requested.
- Update your modem name and password to your liking.
in the app
- Download the Telmex app.
- Enter the information requested (Telmex telephone number, the modem serial number and your email) and click “Continue”.
- When this screen appears, choose the new name of your modem and the new password that you want to use, and click “Update”.
- To finish, verify that the data you chose is correct and that’s it, the name and password of your modem will have been successfully modified. We will send you a confirmation email.
Remember, once this process is done, you must configure all your devices with which you connect via WiFi, using the new data you chose.
