Reality, this is the name of the supposed new Apple brand

Apple’s commitment to Mixed Reality seems to be close to being released to the public and the new device brand would be called Reality, according to a trademark application for three new products: Reality One, Reality Pro and Reality processor.

This new report matches the name realityOS, a new operating system that was discovered in Apple code in February of this year, as well as a registered application that would potentially make use of this system.

It should be remembered that Apple used the same approach with the Apple Watch, whose operating system is called watchOS, in addition to the fact that it already offers RealityKit, a set of tools aimed at developers who want to create Augmented Reality applications for iPhone.

So far, the company has not detailed any aspect of its new devices, but it is expected that they will combine Augmented and Virtual Reality technology, in addition to forming a competition in the world of the metaverse.

Among the rumored aspects of the device is that it works with Apple applications, such as Maps and FaceTime, in addition to allowing the consumption of multimedia content, such as sports broadcasts, movies and video games, as well as being related to health functions.

According to information from Bloomberg, whose reporter Mark Gurman is one of the most knowledgeable about what happens inside Apple, the company could launch its high-end Mixed Reality device by 2023, but its development has been hampered by problems with camera sensors, software, and computer overheating.

In May this year, Apple showed a preview of its gadget to the company’s board, including CEO Tim Cook, so analysts believe that the development of the device is already at an advanced stage of development.

Filings were made in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, Costa Rica, and the European Union, but were not made directly through Apple, but through law firms that the company has used in the past to block some brands.

The registration process began in Canada with an original application in February and was later extended to the other countries during this month through different teams of lawyers in each nation.

This dynamic has been used by Apple, in order to register the names of its products months or years in advance of its official debut, because it allows you to secure them without having the risk that someone else uses them and they have to buy them.

In 2007, before the popular iPhone was released, Apple had a two-year legal dispute with Cisco, because this company owned the name of the phone before Steve Jobs announced it to the public.
