The South Tyrolean mountain world has been the delightful setting for ARD’s “Bozen-Krimi” since 2015. In the most recent case, Commissioner Sonja Schwarz delves deep into the history of the region.
Bolzano – In the 13th episode of the “Bozen-Krimis” in the first, several storylines as well as the relationship and professional life of the inspectors are entangled. For chief investigator Sonja Schwarz (Chiara Schoras) the question arises: Who can she count on?
Private luck or misfortune of the main characters take up a lot of space in the series and are usually – also in the new episode directed by Thomas Nennstiel – the more exciting part of the plot. The respective criminal case then becomes a minor matter. The case of “Murder on the Penser Joch” can be seen on Thursday at 8.15 p.m.
After the departure of her colleague Matteo, she is now mainly on the road with the long-time inspector Jonas (Gabriel Raab). He’s fighting for his love for ex-policewoman Sofia (Sinja Dieks). She had become an involuntary mafia informant and had been dismissed from the service. The mafia is after her, Jonas wants to leave the region with Sofia. Then the mafia sets a killer on Sofia.
Jonas tries to separate private worries from work. He has to solve a murder with boss Sonja: In the mountains around Bolzano, laypeople are recreating the Tyrolean uprising of 1809. The hobby historians camp in costumes and go into the fictional battle. “They don’t shoot sharply,” says the inspector, surprised when she hears of the man’s death. Unexpectedly, real blood flowed at the spectacle: one participant was fatally hit by an arrow.
The victim is a retired police officer. Does the act have something to do with a case from the past? The investigators are hoping for helpful tips from the young journalist Lena (Miriam Hage). This researched in the camp of the historical actors and could accidentally have photographed the perpetrator. The behavior of the young woman seems somewhat opaque to the commissioners.
The journalist is not the only one who is obviously hiding something. Sonja’s lover, the undercover agent Riccardo (Stefano Bernardin), also has a secret: the mafia commissioned him to seduce an environmental politician in order to later blackmail her into this affair. It’s about a big dam project. Commissioner Sonja doubts her relationship with Riccardo.
Fans of the crime series with Alpine flair can look forward to: According to ARD, two more episodes were filmed this summer. dpa
