Einstein was born in the German city of Ulm on March 14, 1879. Little Einstein showed no early signs of genius. He was slow to learn to speak, had a taciturn behavior as a child, and tended to walk thoughtfully and daydream
When he was four or five years old, he discovered the magic of physics thanks to his father's magnetic compass. His two biggest hobbies were sailing and music: he played the violin and composed.
From 1910 to 1922, Einstein was nominated 62 times for the Nobel Prize. However, he never got the award for his Theory of Relativity. It was awarded to him for his explanations of the photoelectric effect in 1921.
Albert Einstein died on April 18, 1955 at the age of 75. His body was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the Delaware River. But not the whole body was burned.
During the autopsy, the hospital doctor Thomas Stoltz Harvey decided to extract Einstein's brain to preserve it and discover the secrets of his genius. It is currently kept in the Department of Anatomy at the University of Kansas.
Einstein was considered the most important person of the 20th century by Time magazine.
Many technologies have been developed thanks to its equation of equivalence between mass and energy, E = mc2, such as Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
In the equation, the letter C is the speed of light: E (energy) = m (mass) c (speed of light) ^ 2.
He also left us some famous quotes:
“Two things are infinite: human stupidity and the universe; and I'm not sure about the latter "
"The mind is like a parachute … It only works if we have it open"
