The record was confirmed on March 2, 2020 and it is a carnivorous coprolite of nothing more and nothing less than 67.5 centimeters along the curve , up to 15.7 centimeters wide at its largest part.
Whose huge poop is this?
Apparently, due to its size, the place where it was found and its high bone content, they suggest that they belong to a Tyrannosaurus rex, whose remains of fossil poop were discovered on a private ranch near the city of Buffalo, in South Dakota (USA) in summer 2019. It is owned by the world's largest collector of coprolites, George Frandsen.
The Guinness Book of Records collects this record, where it is also noted that Frandsen's collection of coprlites could reach more than 7,000 by now, although this figure is not confirmed. Much of his collection is on display at the Museum of South Florida in Bradenton, Florida, and he also maintains an online archive on the same subject called "Poozeum."
