Joe Biden announces compulsory corona vaccination for many people in the United States. The right-wing can hardly contain their anger over this.
Washington DC – Coronavirus vaccinations are making slow progress in the United States. At the same time, the number of corona cases continues to increase due to the contagious delta variant. US President Joe Biden wants to counteract this and on Thursday (09.09.2021, local time) asked people in the US to be vaccinated.
In his speech at the White House, he also presented a strategy to increase pressure on the unvaccinated. Joe Biden’s strategy includes compulsory corona vaccination for government and healthcare workers who receive government funding. Employees in private companies who are not vaccinated must be tested at least once a week. Joe Biden addressed the unvaccinated directly in his address: “We have been patient, but our patience is at the end.” He urged people to do the right thing. The US president received harsh criticism for his move. It’s not up to the government to dictate what private corporations should do, said Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt and Republican Party member.
Joe Biden: Compulsory corona vaccination brings him wave of hatred from right-wing circles
In right-wing media, the criticism of Joe Biden’s plans for compulsory corona vaccination was clearer. The television station Fox News declared him an “authoritarian” in a banner in the picture. “Biden declares war on millions of Americans” read another banner. “Completely totalitarian” was the headline of the Breitbart Internet portal. The right-wing extremist website Gateway Pundit accused the Biden government of “tyrannical orders”. The right-wing online magazine The Federalist speaks of a “fascist train”.
Byron Donalds, who sits in the House of Representatives for the Republicans, made a similar statement to the right-wing television station NewsmaxTV. Joe Biden’s vaccination strategy is totalitarian and fascist. Vaccinations shouldn’t be prescribed and decisions shouldn’t be made based on fear, but based on data. Joe Biden wouldn’t do that, said Donalds.

In fact, however, the vaccination rate is stagnating in the United States. 54.06 percent of the 330 million people in the United States are fully vaccinated, according to Johns Hopkins University. The CDC reports a weekly average of almost 140,000 new infections and 1,100 deaths. (Max Schäfer)
