Hamburg – The Hamburg Film Festival is once again offering exciting films that have already impressed international juries and audiences at other festivals.
On Thursday (7.30 pm) the ten-day event will start its 29th round with the film “Große Freiheit” by Sebastian Meise. The German film, which illuminates the criminalization of homosexuals in post-war Germany, impressed in Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section and won the jury award.
Around 110 feature films from 57 countries are on the program in the five festival cinemas until October 9, including numerous German premieres.
Correspondingly, a lot of celebrities will be on the red carpets. Anneke Kim Sarnau, Burghart Klaußner, Sandra Quadflieg, Anja Kling and Hark Bohm are expected on the opening evening. British actor and director Kenneth Branagh, Alexandra Maria Lara, Birgit Minichmayr and Ronald Zehrfeld also wanted to come during the festival.
The cinemas will be occupied in a checkerboard pattern during the festival. Anyone who wants to go into the hall must be vaccinated against the coronavirus, tested or recovered (3G rule). dpa
