Markus Lanz on ZDF is about the climate. But at least one of them seems to be afraid for his private car.
The coalition negotiations are under way, the haggling over positions begins, but one way or another one can dare to predict that the future government coalition will disappoint the expectations of the climate activists. As radical as Friday for Future demands, a government in which the Greens participate will not act, cannot act.
Carla Reemtsma, environmental activist, Fridays for Future spokeswoman, loose relatives of the Reemtsma clan and actually also cousin of Luisa Neubauer, tried to explain why the movement is apparently becoming radicalized. In his talk show on ZDF, Markus Lanz very convincingly took on the role of the old white man who worries about his right to drive around in his private car as he likes. Switching to electric cars is not enough, it is useless, emphasized Reemtsma, only switching to public transport, to buses and trains will bring about a real change. Adhering to the demands of the Paris Climate Agreement would by far not be enough to limit climate change; the costs for society would then be significantly higher than if one really proceeded radically.
Markus Lanz (ZDF) packs radical goals in beautiful words
But how can one implement these sensible demands in a socially acceptable way, how can there be socially acceptable redistributions? Commuter allowance, company car privilege, Porsche driver, who benefits from subsidies and tax breaks?
The barely older CDU politician Wiebke Winter, the youngest member of the CDU federal executive board, has a slightly different stance, and she did not want to do without the term “renunciation”. While Reemtsma euphemistically talked about transformation at Markus Lanz (ZDF), Winter tried to strike a middle path: It too clearly stands for the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees, but at the age of 25 it is clearly part of politics, rattles Easily put down phrases, numbers, slogans with which you can pack radical goals into beautiful words. To really say clearly that we all have to change the way we live, German politics is still a huge step away from that.
Markus Lanz (ZDF): Joshua Kimmich not yet vaccinated – and now?
Another topic that – unfortunately you have to put it this way – worries the republic is FC Bayern player Joshua Kimmich, who does not want to be vaccinated yet. The virologist Dr. Jana Schroeder said to Markus Lanz (ZDF) that the problem is not that Kimmich does not want to be vaccinated, but that he has fallen into a scientific misconception, namely that there are long-term consequences with corona vaccination. In the history of vaccinations, there have never been any consequences or side effects that only occurred after six months or even later. In very rare cases it is not recognized until later that a side effect was vaccinated, but the side effect always occurred very quickly.
| name of the guest | position |
| Dr. Jana Schroeder | Virologist |
| Albrecht von Lucke | publicist |
| Wiebke Winter (CDU) | politician |
| Carla Reemtsma | Environmental activist |
The publicist and political scientist Albrecht von Lucke also emphasized in Markus Lanz on ZDF that it was time to think about who is saying something. Kimmich is undoubtedly a good footballer, apparently also got a good high school diploma, but he is anything but a virologist. So what he says about vaccinations shouldn’t be taken too seriously, even if he’s a celebrity.
Is Freedom Day coming soon? Guests of Markus Lanz (ZDF) couldn’t find an answer
Much more relevant for Markus Lanz on ZDF is the question of whether the emergency should be officially ended soon, at least on paper. In terms of state policy, that may be correct, Lucke emphasized, but that does not mean that Corona is no longer a danger. On the contrary, as a look at other countries shows, where, if not to say, an increasing number of people are still dying from the virus.

Whether there should be a so-called “Freedom Day” in the foreseeable future, on which Corona will be declared over by decree, remains open to Markus Lanz (ZDF). If you still do not want to be vaccinated, it is your own fault if you are infected with the corona virus in the near future. (Michael Meyns)
