In a street in a Duisburg district, the rules for protection against the corona virus are apparently not being observed. This now has drastic consequences.
Duisburg – The Post is no longer delivering items to the dead end in the Rheinhausen district of Duisburg, as reported by the “WAZ”. Britta Töllner, spokeswoman for Deutsche Post, justified the move for Postbot: inside and delivery person: inside the behavior was no longer tolerable. Many residents: inside would have shown a lack of distance and often did not wear a mask to protect against the corona virus.

The deliverers were apparently repeatedly surrounded by residents. Too little distance and missing masks to protect against the coronavirus on the part of the residents: inside the Duisburg district, the deliverers would have felt at risk.

Corona in Duisburg: Mail is no longer delivered due to the lack of Corona rules
There were also verbally aggressive situations in the cul-de-sac in the Rheinhausen district of Duisburg. Attacks on the mail delivery staff, however, did not take place. The delivery of mail to the residents’ homes has therefore been suspended.
People have been able to pick up their letters and shipments from a neighboring branch in Duisburg since February. As early as the Corona year 2020, there were attempts by Swiss Post to advertise with the help of interpreters and street workers in the district for more security and compliance with protective measures against Corona. So far, the effects of the interventions have not yet been sufficient to send the deliverers back onto the street, said Töllner. “First, it must be permanently ensured that they are not in danger.” (Dpa)
