Among the measures that will come into force with the state of health emergency announced in France, the ban on the celebration of weddings is included, among the most striking points, in addition to the well-known curfew from nine at night in several cities of the neighboring country, including the capital Paris. Besides the ban on weddings, there is also a defense of teleworking and the tightening of protocols in bars and restaurants, obliged to keep a record of their clientele. «The second wave of the epidemic has arrived ”, warned Prime Minister Jean Castex, who has led the presentation of the new measures. Castex has recognized that there is “a sudden and spectacular acceleration” of infections, as witnessed by the record levels of recent days. The global number of positives is already around 780,000. The most significant restriction within this new scenario will be the curfew that will come into force on Saturday in the Paris metropolitan region and in eight other cities and that will imply the limitation of movements between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. “At nine o’clock, everyone should be at home,” stressed Castex. The measure, which will also affect shops and services open to the public, however establishes exceptions to allow mobility for medical, work and transport reasons, as well as to take the dog for a walk or to care for a dependent person. The Government will make a form available to the public to justify certain situations. The Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, has explained that 12.000 policemen and gendarmes will be in charge of monitoring that these restrictions are fulfilled and has warned that breaching the curfew could mean six months in jail and a fine of more than 3,600 euros, according to the Europe 1 radio station.
