The interim president of Venezuela – and recognized by some fifty countries internationally – Juan Guaidó has frustrated, in the first person, an attempt to kidnap his team on a highway in Caracas. The Communication Center of the Presidency in Charge of Venezuela has reported the incident on social media. “The President (E) of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, thwarted an attempt to kidnap his team by an unidentified civilian group with long weapons.” This same account explained that “the armed group intended to kidnap the team members on the Francisco Fajardo highway and lead them to the DGCIM, until President (e) Juan Guaidó arrived and thwarted the attack.” That (e) with which they indicate the position refers to the condition of “ in charge ”, the interim status of Guaidó until the Maduro regime falls and free elections can be called. Last week, Juan Guaidó’s own wife denounced that he had not been able to travel to Madrid due to threats from the Maduro regime. Fabiana Rosales intended to attend the Atlantic Forum, held at the Casa América in Madrid, where she planned to participate. The insecurity regarding the opposition to Maduro in Venezuela is suffering a rebound in the last hours. Guaidó himself denounced this week the kidnapping and disappearance of five soldiers and two policemen by Chavista intelligence. Guaidó denounced the “persecution” against the security forces that do not blindly follow the guidelines of the regime of the tyrant Maduro, and that includes the “disappearance” of two commissioners of the forensic police this past weekend. The Venezuelan opposition leader regrets that Venezuela is “on the verge of a catastrophe” due to the migratory exodus, the lack of access to services, electricity blackouts that last twelve hours a day and the lack of services and basic goods, such as water and medicines.
