On the night of Sunday, September 27 and part of the early morning of September 28, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a new total lunar eclipse that, in addition, will be the last of this 2015 and that will end the cycle of red moons or blood moons , as it is popularly known.
The cycle of red moons, an event that had not occurred for 10 years , began on April 15, 2014; the second red moon took place on October 8, 2014; the third, on April 4, 2015 and the last, which we hope to observe on September 28, culminating the four blood moons .
NASA has created an animation on its website so that we have detailed data of at what time and in what way all the stages of this peculiar total lunar eclipse will be seen in which our satellite is stained a reddish color due to the refraction of solar rays in the Earth’s atmosphere .
The total lunar eclipse will be observed over most of the globe : in all of South America, in most of North and Central America, in almost all of Europe and Africa.
To contemplate the last full moon eclipse of the year, it is not necessary to equip yourself with any special instrument as the event will be seen naturally and, if time permits, clearly and directly.
The next total lunar eclipse will not occur again until January 2018 .
