50.4% of companies have increased their sales through online channels in the pandemic and 43% have digitized business processes, mainly those related to customer service, according to a study on digitization, business and Covid-19 carried out by the consulting firm Nae. This study by Nae also highlights that 38.2% of respondents increasingly turn their advertising towards digital and less to traditional media, and that 48.4% have digitized new processes, being the highest volume is those for collaborative tools (project management, people and communication). On the negative side, 34.1% of those surveyed indicated that their business volume has decreased and, furthermore, by 10.5% , their costs have increased, due, for example, to new investments in technological equipment. However, 24% of the companies have improved their results and 12.8% declare not having received an impact derived from the pandemic. “The generalization could lead us to think that we were going to observe a clear negative impact, but the results show that there are 24% of companies that have improved their results, while 34% have suffered that impact associated with the pandemic and its collateral effects, “explained Álvaro Vigil, director of the digital area of Nae. Impact of teleworking This study also shows a certain polarization with respect to teleworking. Thus, while half are either satisfied or indifferent, 46% consider that it has had a negative influence. The main negative points noted are “the high number of meetings, especially during the first eight months of the pandemic”, or “the decrease in contact due to the increase in teleworking”.”With the pandemic and digitization, it has been confirmed that physical presence is not essential and, on occasions, the quality of life of employees has improved with fewer trips,” Vigil pointed out.
