WhatsApp activates the function to speed up voice memos: this you can do if you don't get the option

The platform launched a tool that allows you to play voice messages at a different playback speed. What can you do if the speed button still does not appear? Here we explain.

The WhatsApp messaging platform launched a function so that its users can change the playback speed of voice notes in their chats. This allows audios to be played at three speeds: 1x (normal), 1.5x and 2x (twice as fast).

This tool, available on WhatsApp Web, Android and the new iOS update, is a response to users who asked to save time to listen to and answer messages. The only downside is that the voice can be distorted.

How to activate the function?

Although this modality is already available on the platform, not all users can see it. If you are one of them, here we explain how to activate it:

Download or update the version of WhatsApp on your cell phone. If you have Android, you can download WhatsApp through the Google Play Store and for iPhones from the App Store.

When playing the audio, on the left side of the voice memo, an option will appear indicating its speed. If you continue pressing, the next speed 1,5 and 2 will appear. If you play once more, the voice memo returns to normal speed.
