David Edwards, a professor at Harvard University, has created in his laboratory Le Whaf , a device in the shape of a fish tank that allows you to inhale a lemon cake or any other tasty food without having to eat it . The result is what he calls a “cloud of flavor”: microdroplets that form puffs of smoke and when breathed in, they offer a complete taste experience without the need to consume a single calorie.
It is not the first work of the Harvard researcher in this line. In 2009, Edwards invented Le Whif, an original chocolate inhaler that he released with the slogan “as sweet as chocolate, as light as air .” The success was immediate: after launching the product in April, it sold 25,000 units in a single month, exhausting all its stocks.
Now he has decided to use the same device to market inhalable vitamins in three formats: antioxidant green tea, anti-aging wine tea with resveratrol, and multivitamin hibiscus tea. “It is breathed and absorbed in the mouth, without reaching the digestive tract, so that a higher concentration of vitamins and supplements reaches the bloodstream”, defends its creator, who has also developed inhalable coffee, another great commercial success in France. Japan and the United States.
