This year marks four centuries since humanity first observed the sky with a telescope. To celebrate, at the L? Estudiolo de Pèndulum in Barcelona have prepared a functional replica of Galileo Galilei's telescope , inspired by the model that is preserved in the Museum of the History of Science in Florence. The telescope has a 20-millimeter lens and a 1000-millimeter focal length. With an analogous instrument, the popular Italian astronomer discovered the phases of Venus, which confirmed that this planet revolves around the Sun.
