Big Bang 2.0, the game

bigbang2Have you not participated in the“Big Bang Game 2.0”(http://www.bigbang.cat/)? At the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) they have decided to give players 30 more days of competition to be eligible for one of the prizes offered by the innovative project.

The Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC), with the collaboration of the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya, created through its Educational Telematics Network (XTEC) the “Big Bang Game”, of a virtual nature , to make available to young people and the general population un resource for entertainment and scientific disseminationwhich, at the same time, wants to facilitateknowledge about the origin of the universe and particle physics.

The game defends theinfluence of social networks as another tool for scientific disseminationand it intends to end that edition with a consolidated virtual community. The growing number of users from networks such as Twitter and Facebook has led to the possibility of extending the competition in addition to giving more room to participants and fans of the game.

The first three prizes in the individual category are already known: a trip to Geneva to visit CERN, followed by an e-book and a digital camera. On the other hand, the first prize in the group category is also known, a visit to the Alba synchrotron that is located in the Vallès Technology Park (Barcelona). The individual prizes for the best players in each game and the second and third group category prizes remain to be defined.

There is a mirror universe invisible to our eyes, says a new study

Have we solved the Hubble constant problem? An invisible 'mirror world' of particles that interacts with the universe solely through gravity could hold the key to solving this crucial cosmological problem, according to a new study.

How social networks influence the self-image of adolescents and how to help them as...

Social networks have become an important part of the lives of many people, especially adolescents. And it is that these platforms offer them a space in which they can show themselves to others, playing a little (or a lot) with reality to show the image they want.

Tell me how you use social media and I'll tell you what your parenting...

Social networks have changed many paradigms of our lives and the way we behave with our children is not exempt from it. If you are an active parent on these platforms and you are used to sharing content in which your children are present, it can give clear clues to your parenting style, or at least that is what a study carried out by the University of Bloomington reveals.

A ray of light contains more information than you think

A simple ray of light, a jet of photons, is capable of giving us information about the temperature, composition, speed and distance of the star that emitted it.
