Bimbo will invest around 750 million dollars in projects in Mexico during 2022

The Capex (capital expenditure) of a company is the investment it makes to maintain or expand its capital assets. And Grupo Bimbo is about to generate the highest Capex in its history: 1,500 million dollars (mdd). About half of this investment (750 million dollars) will be allocated to projects in Mexico, according to what the company reported during a call with investors, due to its quarterly report -and full year 2021-.

Data indicated by the company indicates that it is an increase of 65% in 2022 over the previously estimated Capex (which was 900 million dollars).

“We remain fully committed to the markets in which we have operated for the long term, including Mexico, where, in fact, about half of this Capex is destined for the country,” said Diego Gaxiola, global director of Administration and Finance of Grupo Bimbo and highlighted: “It will be a record level of investment in Mexico, equivalent to 1.4 times the average of what we have invested in the last seven years.”

Reinvesting profits in their businesses has been and will continue to be: “Part of our DNA, since we have a long-term vision and are committed to achieving our mission of bringing delicious and nutritious food to everyone’s hands,” added the manager.

For his part, Daniel Servitje, president and CEO of Grupo Bimbo, highlighted that this is a historical investment record in Mexico in the company’s more than 76-year history.

This information is released after its quarterly report detailed that Grupo Bimbo closed 2021 with record levels of sales, volume and profit, attributable to a favorable price mix in all regions.
