Los Angeles – US drummer Travis Barker (46) from the punk rock group Blink-182 is taking part in this year’s Oscar gala.

Drummer and singer Sheila E. and jazz pianist Robert Glasper are also to provide the musical accompaniment for the 94th Academy Awards as members of an all-star band, as announced by the film academy in Los Angeles.

The organizers had previously announced star guests such as Anthony Hopkins, Rami Malek, Uma Thurman, Lady Gaga, John Travolta, Shawn Mendes and Jamie Lee Curtis, who would be helping out on stage as celebrity presenters.

This year’s Oscars at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood are scheduled for March 27th. The trophy show will be hosted by actresses Amy Schumer, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes. dpa
