Dua Lipa walks the catwalk for Donatella Versace in Milan – Lourdes Leon, Madonna’s daughter, and Naomi Campbell also present sexy fashion for the coming year.

Milan – With prominent models such as Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon (24), Naomi Campbell (51), Irina Shayk (35), Gigi Hadid (26) and pop star Dua Lipa (26), the Versace brand made its corona comeback at Milan Fashion Week committed.

Designer Donatella Versace (66) conceived her new collection around the topic of silk scarf and showed a fashion for spring and summer 2022 charged with joie de vivre at Milan Fashion Week on Friday evening.

“The silk scarf was a central element of our brand message from the start,” wrote the designer about the origin of her idea in the press release. She had the catwalk decorated with oversized versions of the element.

In the collection itself, the accessories were transformed into clothing: as a top, decorative belt, and even a suit. It is bordered on the side in jeans, worked into black dresses and trousers, adorns the jacket as a lapel, and gives coats opulent sleeves.

With the safety pin, Donatella Versace then quoted her own company history again: namely the spring / summer 1994 collection, one of the most famous of the label with glamor punk as its theme. Now the safety pins appear in bold colors. Sometimes they actually have a function, hold slit fabrics together, for example, but mostly they are just decorative.

At the same time as the women’s collection, fashion for men was presented. Here, too, printed silk and strong colors dominated. There are also sportswear elements such as college blousons or casual, wide Bermuda shorts.

The first and last appearance of the show belonged to the face of the new Versace campaign: the British singer Dua Lipa (“Break My Heart”, “Physical”, “Don’t Start Now”, “New Rules”).

The current Milan Fashion Week is also a step towards normality. While the last two seasons were largely characterized by purely digital forms of presentation due to the pandemic, 43 shows played in front of an audience have again been on the official event program since Wednesday. With Dolce & Gabbana and Giorgio Armani, other big names in Italian fashion will follow as a live event.

At Prada Friday it was more sexy than ever: ultra-short skirts, corsage elements, a focus on the female breast. At the same time as Milan, the same show took place in Shanghai. Prada actually has a more intellectual, also feminist character, but this time the brand showed its seductive side. They wanted to develop ideas on how sexuality could be expressed through the clothed body, had Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the two co-creative directors of the Italian label, write in the text accompanying the collection. dpa
