Update from May 19, 9:11 p.m.: Numerous large events and festivals planned for the summer are shaking, now the decision was made to host the Bamberg Sandkerwa. The popular Upper Franconian traditional event attracts around 200,000 visitors annually to the historic old town, who often throng the narrow streets

Update from May 19, 3:04 p.m .: The corona numbers in Munich have fallen sharply (see previous update). Nevertheless, the mask requirement in the Bavarian state parliament still applies at least until the end of July. “Even if the number of new infections with the coronavirus is happily falling and more people are vaccinated: We must not jeopardize this success in fighting pandemics.” State Parliament President Ilse Aigner said on Wednesday in Munich. A quarantine of the parliament must be avoided “under all circumstances”, which is why the current regulation has been extended on the advice of experts.

The mask regulation in the state parliament also provides for at least one medical mouth and nose protection in the plenary hall. The mask may only be removed from the lectern. Anyone moving through the building must wear an FFP2 mask. Persons who are exempted from wearing mouth and nose protection by a certificate may only participate in the meetings or enter the building with a current negative Corona test.

Corona in Bavaria: After the turmoil about RKI numbers – Munich breaks the next limit

Update from May 19, 6:17 a.m.: The seven-day incidence in Bavaria is 74.1 today, Wednesday, and thus slightly higher than the national average of 72.8 (RKI, May 19, 3:12 a.m.). Within the past 24 hours, 1,729 new infections with the coronavirus were reported in Bavaria, 28 people died in connection with Covid-19 disease. The number of active infections fell by around 1600. The cities of Coburg (204.5), Memmingen (204.1) and Schweinfurt (194.7) have the highest incidence values in Bavaria. The lowest incidence value can be found in the city of Bayreuth – here it is only 18.7 followed by the city of Weiden in the Upper Palatinate with 25.7.

Corona in Bavaria: Munich with an incidence below 50

After initial confusion the day before about the incidence in the state capital, the city of Munich can finally announce the good news today: The incidence value of 50 was fallen below – the current value is now 47.3 according to the official RKI information. If the value remains below 50 in the following days, further relaxations come into force – for example, the omission of an appointment booking when shopping or in outdoor catering.

Update from May 18, 11 p.m.: A message about the corona vaccination strategy in the Free State caused great confusion on Tuesday evening: As early as next Wednesday, May 18, there should be no more corona vaccinations in all Bavarian vaccination centers. But in the course of the evening the Bavarian Ministry of Health gave the all-clear: There were no instructions to stop the first vaccinations completely. It was only informed about the high number of now necessary second vaccinations.

2:01 p.m.: We end the live ticker at this point and summarize again. The most important openings from Friday, always subject to a test concept and an incidence below 100:

  • Cultural and sports events are again allowed with up to 250 spectators
  • Gyms are opening again
  • Outdoor pools are allowed to open
  • Open hotels and holiday apartments

In addition, there are face-to-face tuition again at Bavaria’s schools after the Whitsun holidays when the incidence is below 50. The daycare centers are also reopening. Finally: As Söder said, there should be a first “pilot fair” as early as July. Hygiene concepts are to be tested at TrendSet from July 10th to 12th. Söder wants to talk about indoor catering on June 10th.

Corona emergency brake in Bavaria – Söder: “I’m more Bavarian, Hubert is more loyal to the country”

1:49 p.m .: Holetschek emphasizes again that the second vaccination is an important date. A swipe in the direction of Austria, where those who have been vaccinated for the first time are allowed to move without major restrictions on their fundamental rights. When asked how things are going nationwide after the federal emergency brake runs out, Söder added that he wanted to be stricter in Bavaria anyway, but that failed because of Aiwanger: “Hubert is more loyal to the country, I’m more Bavarian. I understand that. He’s a candidate for the Bundestag, which I’m not. ”Then he laughs.

Corona easing: Söder does not want to talk about indoor catering until June 10th

1:42 p.m.: Back to Corona. A colleague from the Passauer Neue Presse wants to know how Söder is doing with indoor catering. That depends a little on the vaccination progress, says Söder. At the end of the Whitsun vacation, they also want to consider incidence. Söder mentions June 10th as the deadline. “It all goes both ways. The better it gets, the more is possible. ”The other way around, it must be closed again. In any case, the mask will remain for a long time, says Söder. “The mask is a real protection. Of all the measures we had to take, the prick is the most harmless and the mask the second most harmless. ”Also with a view to the Indian mutant that is spreading in Great Britain. You have to watch that closely. Söder: “I’ve got an eye on it.”

1:38 p.m.: Sibler talks about the large complex of university reform. Tenor: More money for universities and technical colleges. Better promotion of new technologies. And easier founding of start-ups. As a negative example, Sibler cites the MP3 player, which was developed in Bavaria “and then produced elsewhere”. So more business should go into the universities. The link should be easier. The reform is currently being discussed with the universities.

1.36 p.m.: Holetschek wants to maintain the prioritization at the vaccination centers for the time being and abolish it as soon as possible with the general practitioners. He calls the concept “stability and flexibility”. With the digital vaccination pass, the federal government still has to do its homework. The Minister of Health does not mention that family doctors have a lot of extra work with the vaccination campaign and hardly any income, while working much cheaper than the vaccination centers. Science Minister Sibler is now speaking.

1.30 p.m .: Now Aiwanger is also praising the coalition. “Nowhere does the energy transition work as well as in Bavaria,” he says. And names the high proportion of photovoltaics. Aiwanger also hopes for a new start in wind power and refers to the pro-wind power desire from Ebersberg. * Now Klaus Holetschek speaks.

1:25 p.m .: Hubert Aiwanger speaks of the “courage to live”. “Now things are really going in the right direction,” continues the Minister of Economic Affairs, after 14 months of only having to talk about “locking up”. He hopes that the federal emergency brake will not be extended so that the hotels can stay open even with rising incidences. By the way: A popular excursion district in Bavaria has to stay on Whitsun. In Miesbach between Schliersee and Tegernsee the incidence is far too high, * a sad leader in Upper Bavaria with a serious background.

Corona in Bavaria: Söder warns of an Indian mutant

1:19 p.m .: “If there isn’t a new mutation, we have to watch the Indian variant very closely, I think I’m optimistic that this long home stretch will lead to the goal,” says Söder. That is almost a Merkel sentence. Finally, Söder wishes a nice Whitsun vacation and at the same time warns that one should enjoy the openings with caution. Now comes Aiwanger.

1:15 p.m.: This ends the corona block. Now it’s about the coalition mid-term balance. “Hubert Aiwanger probably thought: Finally rule, sit at the meat pots,” says Söder. But then everything turned out very differently. “In terms of content and people, it is an excellent collaboration,” says Söder of the Bavarian coalition. You have “good results”. He cites the family allowance as an example and there daycare allowance. The support has also been significantly improved. Söder also praises education in Bavaria. 13,000 new study places had been created in Bavaria by 2021. When it comes to scientific progress, Söder immediately finds a new word “high-tech digitization”. When it comes to agriculture, there is a second swipe in the direction of free voters. The party is very much connected to agriculture, he says. Söder would have liked to have done more for climate protection and species protection, should the sub-text read here. Nevertheless, a lot has been achieved.

1:10 p.m.: Economy – Large trade fairs should be possible again from September. A pilot fair is to take place in Munich in the summer.

1:08 p.m.: Schools and daycare centers – if the incidence is below 50, absolute face-to-face teaching should be possible again. In addition, there should be extra “bridging courses” so that the students can catch up on their learning deficiencies. Daycare centers should also be allowed to reopen, and tests should also take place there, but differently than in schools. Parents should test at home.

1:06 p.m.: Tourism, culture, sport : Everywhere should be opened wider. Sports events can again have up to 250 spectators. The fitness studios will run under “Sport” in the future, under the motto “Click and fit”, these may also be visited again under certain conditions.

1:01 p.m.: The PK begins. Söder speaks and is initially happy about the falling incidence (currently just under 81 for all of Bavaria). Around 28 counties and cities are still over 100. Nevertheless, Söder sees the situation easing and feels that his strategy of “cautious opening” has been confirmed. Bavaria will start the tourism season on Friday. Outdoor swimming pools, hotels, guesthouses are allowed to open from Friday if the incidence is below 100. Cultural events with 250 participants in the open air should also be possible.

12.59 p.m.: Markus Söder is still a long time coming. Also announced are Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU), Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) and Science Minister Bernd Sibler (CSU).

12.45 p.m .: The press conference with Markus Söder starts in a few minutes. We ticker them live here, you can follow the PK in the video stream above.

Update, May 18, 11:33 a.m.: The press conference starts as planned at around 1 p.m. Meanwhile, there is bad news for the state capital. In the morning, an incidence below 50 was reported from Munich. Unfortunately, this number is incorrect. There was a transmission error at the RKI. The corrected incidence is still just above the 50 mark, to be precise: at 53.8.

Munich, May 18, 10.15 a.m.: There is good news from Munich: With an incidence of 46.2, the state capital is below the 50 mark for the first time in months. Nevertheless, Bavaria is still represented in the top places nationwide in the district incidences. Schweinfurt is currently in second place with a 7-day incidence * of 262.5. Coburg is in third place with 221.6. Overall, at least according to the official RKI figures, the incidence for the Free State is falling with the infections reported on Monday. With 604 newly reported cases it is 81. As I said, these are the official figures. It remains to be seen to what extent the health authorities in Bavaria are not a little behind in terms of the actual number of infections due to the weekend and the public holiday on Thursday.

Corona situation in Bavaria: Söder appears in front of the press at 1 p.m. – are there any new easings?

Markus Söder is currently discussing new opening steps with his ministers. The opening of outdoor pools is planned for the end of this week. How many outdoor pools actually make use of the opportunity is, of course, an open question given the current capricious weather in Bavaria *. It is also always assumed that the incidence in the respective region is stable below 100. Hotels and holiday apartments should also be able to receive guests again. After all, cultural events with a maximum of 250 participants should be possible again.

In addition, the move away from vaccination prioritization for general practitioners is on the agenda. From Thursday, vaccinations should be given in doctors’ offices without prioritization. However, various general practitioners see this critically. *

Furthermore, according to the State Chancellery, the government coalition should conduct a mid-term review. Free voters under Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger and CSU under Söder have been ruling Bavaria since autumn 2018. The press conference begins at 1 p.m. We are there live. * Merkur.de / bayern is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
