Corona rules: Eight federal states have already decided to simplify – not all of them depend on incidence

Germany has reached its second Corona summer. It’s time to relax again. Half of the federal states have already adopted new rules. In Hamburg, however, it is also tightened.

Munich – Summer is here. With the meteorological starting shot of the warmest season, there is of course the hope of a return to normal again this time. Or what’s left of it. As in the previous year, the corona infection numbers in Germany * are developing so positively that additional easing has already been promised. Some even regardless of incidence!

In Bavaria, advice on further steps out of the lockdown * should not be held until June 4th. Most recently, however, the Ministry of Economics had already promised a “timely, Bavaria-wide and incidence-independent opening of indoor catering”. Is it already Christmas?

Corona rules in summer: eight federal states announce their new resolutions

Eight other countries have paved the way for making life easier during the pandemic with new resolutions that stand out from the federal emergency brake. Made possible primarily thanks to the numerous vaccines * that are used all over Germany every day. And Sars-CoV-2 * make life much more difficult.

In Berlin, for example, from Friday (June 4), restaurateurs will also be able to entertain their guests indoors – but only after reservation and submission of a negative corona test *. The latter is no longer necessary for food and drink outdoors. The retail trade in the capital can also be entered without a test certificate. The general alcohol ban does not take effect until an hour later from Friday – namely at midnight. From June 11th, the hotels will be able to offer tourist overnight stays again – combined with an obligation to test.

Brandenburg is already loosening up a day earlier. Then the interior areas of the catering establishments will also open around Berlin – but guests are required to test. This does not apply to the outside area. In addition, private celebrations are allowed again subject to the contact restrictions. Theaters, concert halls and cinemas are allowed to open – up to 500 people are allowed for outdoor events and up to 200 indoors.

Corona rules in summer: Hamburg’s entertainment districts get tighter shackles

In Hamburg, the following applies from Friday: You can also cater to the interior of restaurants and bars – but only after a test and until curfew at 11 p.m. However, the Hanseatic city partially tightened its rules after incidents during police operations to enforce the corona measures. In parts of St. Pauli and the Schanzenviertel, from Friday to Sunday at 8 p.m., there is a ban on selling alcoholic beverages “outside the city” or bringing them with them. The general ban on serving begins at 11 p.m.

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania allows family celebrations in restaurants for up to 30 people from Thursday (June 3) again. In order to stimulate tourism, it is easier to rent holiday apartments or houses. A negative corona test on arrival is sufficient, it does not have to be repeated every three days.

Finally back to normal life: Germans are drawn to restaurants and bars again, and not just because of the top temperatures.

Corona rules in summer: Saarland is already working on a step-by-step plan for events

In Rhineland-Palatinate , the new rules have been in effect since this Wednesday (June 2nd). Here, the interior areas of the gastronomy can be opened from an incidence below 100, but negative tests are a requirement for guests. This obligation does not apply in the outdoor area. In addition, mini golf courses, outdoor amusement parks and outdoor swimming pools, bathing lakes and saunas are allowed to open under certain conditions such as mask requirements or restrictions on occupancy.

In Saarland , the obligation to test is being cut. From Friday (June 4th), private meetings with up to five people from up to five households are allowed without a test certificate. This is generally not required when visiting the retail outlet. A week later, this also applies to outdoor dining and private outdoor gatherings. A step-by-step plan for further easing of events is to be drawn up by June 11 and announced on that day.

Corona rules in summer: Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia stay true to the incidence policy

In good time before the state elections on June 6th *, the reins in Saxony-Anhalt will be loosened at least if the incidence is below 35 on five consecutive days. Under these conditions, the obligation to test in outdoor catering can be dispensed with, and the curfew at 10 p.m. indoors would be declared a thing of the past. Cinemas, theaters, literature houses and swimming pools should then open. In addition, private meetings with up to ten people outside the household would be allowed.

Thuringia continues to orient itself very close to the incidences. Here, the catering industry is allowed to open its interior to customers with a value below 50, but the test is only waived below 35. For the retail trade, the latter already applies to an incidence below 50. Hotels are allowed to receive tourists again from a value below 100. Under these conditions, museums, memorials and outdoor swimming pools can also open; this applies to cinemas, theaters and zoos with regard to the indoor area from an incidence of 50.
