El Buen Fin returns to its 4-day format, with an optional face mask and without controlled capacity

The starting signal for El Buen Fin 2022 is close. Unlike the last two years, the 12th edition of the “cheapest weekend of the year” returns to its original four-day format, from November 18 to 21 , and with much more relaxed sanitary measures. With and without controlled capacity.

The 2020 edition was held in a digital format, while last year the season was extended for seven days in order to maintain a controlled capacity in stores.

“Particularly this 2022, with the reduction in Covid-19 cases and the economic reactivation underway, we return to the four-day format,” said Vicente Yañez, president of the National Association of Self-Service and Department Stores (ANTAD), which groups chains such as Liverpool, Sanborns, Palacio de Hierro, La Comer, Soriana and Chedraui.

This edition will be held from November 18 to 21 and ANTAD says that businesses are already getting ready to receive 27 million customers every day.

Until now, the participating organizations, such as ANTAD and the Business Coordinating Council (CCE) have not established a sales goal for this edition. Last year it amounted to 191,900 million pesos , below the goal of 239,000 million pesos.

Enough inventories?

The disruption in the supply chain resulting from the pandemic has become a stone in the shoe for some companies that have faced shortages of goods.

Previous experiences prompted companies to request product inventories in advance. Liverpool, for example, has been overinventory for a few months of computer equipment, cell phones and even items related to the World Cup in Qatar, whose inauguration is next November 20.

Graciano Guichard, general director of the company, said this week at a conference with investors that El Puerto de Liverpool, which groups the Liverpool and Suburbia stores, has an inventory between 6 and 7% higher than the commercial plans for this season.

Until now, the chains associated with ANTAD have not detailed what bonuses, offers or promotions they will deploy throughout the season, but some, such as Palacio de Hierro, already anticipate on their website that online purchase shipments will not have additional cost.

Those businesses that want to participate can sign up for the campaign from the El Buen Fin page, the call closes on November 17. As part of the registration requirements, they must have an active tax mailbox and positive compliance opinion.

Good End Raffle: how and who participates

Those who pay with participating bank cards will participate in the draw that the Tax Administration Service (SAT) will hold on December 9. The winning buyer of the jackpot will receive 250,000 pesos, while the prize for the winning business will be 260,000. Additionally, 400,000 pesos will be distributed among buyers and 100,000 among participating businesses.

To participate in this raffle it is necessary to register the purchase ticket, which must be greater than 250 pesos, in the section within the Good End page. The prizes will be deposited in the cards or accounts with which the purchases were made or sales purchase or sale operations during El Buen Fin.

ANTAD recommended consumers who plan to take advantage of the discount season to consult the terms and conditions of the guarantees, review the exchange or return policies, and keep the payment receipts to be able to make any type of clarification.
