For the life partner of the Austrian international Sabitzer, Katja Kühne, the world is collapsing. The bachelor’s winner came to Germany with her mother 22 years ago, but her biological father and family members still live in Kherson (population approx. 300,000) near the city of Odessa.
Katja Kühne, who was born in Ukraine, poured out her heart to bild.de: “My relatives in the Ukraine are starving,” says Kühne to bild.de. “The city is completely surrounded by the Russian army. The electricity hasn’t worked for days.”

There is no water, no medicine and no more petrol, continues the fiancé of the FC Bayern star Katja Kühne. “If the residents try to leave the city, they will be shot at.” Since war broke out in Ukraine because of Russian aggression, Katja Kühne has been on the phone with her relatives in Ukraine almost every hour (here our Ukraine news ticker).
“It’s really a horror to listen to all these descriptions,” explains Kühne.
In the Ukraine conflict*, the Russian army is increasingly targeting civilians – as the government under US President Joe Biden* describes it. “Hundreds, if not thousands, of civilians have already been killed or injured,” said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
In chat groups, among other things, photos of dead people in or in front of their cars are shared, on which you can see the license plate. “In this way, at least the relatives should know who had to lose their life,” says Katja Kühne.

“People should know what suffering people in my hometown have to endure,” continued FC Bayern star Marcel Sabitzer’s fiancee. It remains to be seen whether the family drama surrounding Katja Kühne’s relatives will also affect Marcel Sabitzer’s sporting performance at FC Bayern.
Katja Kühne became known in 2014 by winning the TV format “The Bachelor”. In the final, the woman from Dresden prevailed against Angelina Heger. Marcel Sabitzer’s fiancée used to pose for one or the other photo shoot, including for the fashion chain Colloseum in Hamburg, and was a guest on TV shows such as “Let’s Dance” (RTL) or “Celebrity Dinner”.
