There were also verbally aggressive situations in the cul-de-sac in the Rheinhausen district of Duisburg. Attacks on the mail delivery staff, however, did not take place. The delivery of mail to the residents’ homes has therefore been suspended.

People have been able to pick up their letters and shipments from a neighboring branch in Duisburg since February. As early as the Corona year 2020, there were attempts by Swiss Post to advertise with the help of interpreters and street workers in the district for more security and compliance with protective measures against Corona. So far, the effects of the interventions have not yet been sufficient to send the deliverers back onto the street, said Töllner. “First, it must be permanently ensured that they are not in danger.” (Dpa)
