Cologne – In addition to “I’m a star – get me out of here!” The second RTL cult show continues. With “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” the broadcaster has another audience favorite in its program. But some viewers will have to rub their eyes: A DSDS veteran is missing from the jury for the first time in 18 years. Dieter Bohlen turned his back on the show last year. But a replacement is provided: In addition to Ilse DeLange and Toby Gad, Schlager superstar Florian Silbereisen sits behind the desk. Before the start, the 40-year-old announced intimate details: He talked about his bizarre nickname and revealed where it came from.
Florian Silbereisen: “Even as a little boy…”
In a video by RTL, Silbereisen first talks about his private taste in music and reveals that he still listens to CDs in a very old-fashioned way and has just discovered the new album “30” by singer Adele. For the new DSDS season, he promises that there will be “pure emotions”. And then comes the piquant question about his nickname, because Florian Silbereisen is also called “Quetschi”. Where does the name come from? “Even as a small boy I always played the accordion, in Bavarian the Quetschen.” This was then the name “Quetschi” in his circle of friends.

If the new DSDS jury member and dream ship captain Florian Silbereisen finds time to visit friends and family in Bavaria, it is still received and addressed with the name “Quetschi”. The 40-year-old was born in Tiefenbach, Bavaria, a few kilometers north of Passau. You can still hear his Bavarian origins in the likeable Florian “Quetschi” Silbereisen to this day.
