Entertainment Gaming Show (EGS) is a name that makes noise for the thousands of video game fans, however it took several years for this event to return to Mexico and those in charge of bringing it back have been Gaming Partners, Outplay, the creative group in gaming, and Altered Ventures, the investment fund specialized in video games, e-sports and VR/AR.
When and where will EGS Mexico be?
After twenty years of history, this event returns with the aim of continuing to provide unique experiences in video games and interactive entertainment. The companies that will bring the event reported that it returns on November 4, 5 and 6 to the World Trade Center in Mexico City, under the Respawn edition.
“We are very excited to share this great news because after a long period without face-to-face events due to the pandemic and several years of listening to gamers of different generations about what they expect from a video game show, we have redesigned EGS under a new format and for this reason we have renamed it the Entertainment Gaming Show” said Jorge Lizárraga, CEO of Gaming Partners and one of the pioneers in organizing the most recognized events and tournaments in the industry throughout Latin America.
According to the organizers, the event will last three days and will have an expected attendance of more than 30,000 people who will experience unique content and experiences. For those who connect virtually, they will be able to remotely enjoy the show via streaming on the official EGS channels.
It should be noted that the thematic poster of the event was made by the artist Joss Monzoni. “Our vision is to theme each edition of EGS now in its new format and this 2022 we are doing Respawn, which means in video game language the rebirth of a character and that is how EGS 2022 will be,” said Lizárraga.
On the other hand, Mario Valle Reyes, original co-founder of EGS and managing partner of Altered Ventures, said that “the industry has changed dramatically in 20 years. Today we no longer only play on consoles, but on computers, mobile phones and increasingly in immersive forms of gaming such as VR/AR. We are experiencing an explosion in indie games, the birth of cloud gaming and environments such as metaverses, and all this is led by the largest entertainment industry on the planet: video games.
When will EGS tickets be available?
EGS tickets will be available starting this Friday, September 2, in its Respawn stage, which will only be valid during the weekend closing on September 4 at midnight. The stages and ticket prices are available on the official website.
During the initial pre-sale stage, access to the iconic EGS Night, EGS’s kick-off party for guests 18 and older, is offered for limited amounts only.
Through their social networks, more details will be revealed about what will mark the return of the most important video game event in Mexico and a pioneer in all of Latin America.
