Tech companies returned to live presentations inside IFA in Berlin, and in the case of the Chinese company Honor, the focus of its launch was on three new devices and an operating system.
“With the introduction of MagicOS 7.0, and the fitness solutions, we hope to provide compelling options for international consumers who are in search of premium experiences,” George Zhao, CEO of Devices Division at Honor, said at the presentation.
The brand’s launches focused on the company’s new smartphone, the Honor 70, as well as the Honor MagicBook 14 and the Honor Pad 8.
Features of the Honor 70
The device is part of the Honor N Series of premium smartphones. It focuses its bet on the camera, as has happened with previous models such as the Honor 50. It has a 54MP main lens with a 1/1.49-inch Sony IMX800 sensor and a 50MP camera with an ultra wide angle and macro lens.
It is also the first smartphone of the brand that runs on the Honor Magic UI 6.1 operating system, has Android 12 and will be available in midnight black, platinum crystal, mystic frost and emerald green.
Although it is already available in Europe from today, Honor indicates that it will arrive in Mexico.
A new operating system?
Following in the footsteps of the company that gave birth to the brand, Huawei, Honor is looking to give its phones a personality. MagicOS 7.0 is a new operating system designed to deliver a seamless experience across various platforms and devices. This operating system is based on Android as well as PC and IoT operating systems, so products running on other operating systems can connect with MagicOS.
That is, it is possible to integrate hearing aids or smartphones without much problem.
Among the features that Honor presented is that this new system will allow you to control a laptop, smartphone and a tablet of the brand through the same keyboard and mouse. Through this function, users will be able to share documents between products in an integrated way, just like entering a text on the smartphone and tablet from the keyboard of their computer. The arrival of MagicOS 7.0 will be officially announced in the last quarter of 2022.
It should be noted that Honor is one of the brands that has stood out the most in the saturated Chinese market. According to Counterpoint, Honor reached the second position for the first time after becoming an independent company in March 2022, showing strong momentum in early 2022 with a record weekly sales share of 17%.
Although Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi are more relevant in the Asian market, the company has managed to grow more than 100% compared to the beginning of 2021.
