Because Vladimir Putin plunged Ukraine into a relentless war, Till Lindemann is now rebuffing the Russian audience: the Rammstein frontman has now canceled his concerts in Moscow and Novosibirsk without replacement. The show in Kyiv, on the other hand, is still on the tour program.
Berlin – Till Lindemann (59; here is an overview of all the news about the Rammstein singer) had always felt comfortable in Russia, and spent the past year quite often in the metropolises of Moscow and St. Petersburg, where he had something like a had found a second home. But the Russian invasion of Ukraine also left a bitter aftertaste for the Rammstein frontman. He now drew consequences and canceled his two Russian concerts from the tour schedule without replacement, as reported by tz.de.

Till Lindemann and Rammstein revered in Russia – but the Ukraine war could change that
Both Till Lindemann (career and private life of the exceptional singer) and his industrial metal band Rammstein have enjoyed cult status in Russia for years. In April 2021, the 59-year-old musician even released a song in Russian that served as the soundtrack for the World War II film “Devyatayev” (original title: Девятаев).
Nobody could have guessed that less than a year later Russia itself would unleash a military conflict on the European mainland. The shock was correspondingly great – and probably also Till Lindemann’s dismay.

Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann cancels Russian shows – and expresses solidarity with Ukraine
The Rammstein frontman announced via Instagram that he would cancel his two Russian “I hate children” tour dates without replacement. Till Lindemann would have performed his solo program in Novosibirsk on December 5th and in Moscow on December 11th. Nothing will come of it now.
In addition, the native of Leipzig posted an (older) photo in which he poses in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv – a subtle but equally clear statement against the war in Ukraine.
Till Lindemann’s Kyiv concert not canceled – does the Rammstein singer want to set an example?
Particularly interesting: Till Lindemann’s Kyiv concert, which is scheduled for November 16, is currently still in his tour program. Only the Rammstein singer himself knows whether this is a symbolic expression of solidarity or the hope for quick peace.
The fact is: The 59-year-old has never been too good to openly express his opinion and to stand up for it. Rammstein also maintained this attitude, protesting against homophobia at a concert in Moscow in 2019, when the two guitarists Richard Kruspe (54) and Paul Landers (57) kissed on the mouth.
War in Ukraine: Green Day cancels concert in Moscow
A number of artists are currently canceling their concerts in Russia. The American punk rock band Green Day also canceled their show announced for May 29 – in protest!
