So far, the satirist Jan Böhmermann was primarily known for his quick-wittedness. Now he is supposed to put his cooking skills to the test at “Böhmi Brutzelt” on ZDF.
Frankfurt – Jan Böhmermann has been a well-known television face at the latest since the satirical late-night show “ZDF Magazin Royale”. Now the 40-year-old satirist and avowed hobby cook is planning his own cooking show with the broadcaster ZDF, which is due to appear soon. For this he will not swing the wooden spoon alone.
As the broadcaster announced, different prominent guests will be invited to each edition of the show “Böhmi sizzles”, who will support Böhmermann in his cooking campaign. The plan is for the guests to bring their favorite dish, which will then be prepared together. ZDF has already publicly announced who will be invited to the new show.
“Böhmi sizzles” on ZDF: the broadcaster announces a colorful mix of guests
The first episodes will feature entertainer Riccardo Simonetti, ZDF presenter Mai Thi Nguyen-Kim, dancer Motsi Mabuse, hip-hop producer Xatar, presenter Aminata Belli and pianist Igor Levit. However, the broadcaster ZDF does not yet reveal which dishes are sizzling – viewers will probably only find out when the respective issue is broadcast. It also remains open whether Böhmermann will manage to prepare all dishes to the satisfaction of his guests.
Because he himself said in an episode of the podcast “Fest und Fluschig”, which he moderated together with musician Olli Schulz, that he couldn’t cook a lot – after all, he was not a professional. But he is very interested in what dishes his guests like to eat and why. The show can be seen once a week in both the ZDFmediathek and ZDFneo. Six issues are planned for the time being.
“Böhmi sizzles” on ZDF: Other formats remain
The start is on July 23, 2021. From 10 am, “Böhmi sizzles” can be expected in the ZDFmediathek and on Saturdays from July 24 on ZDFneo. The episodes of the new cooking show are about 30 minutes long. The satirist will continue his previous formats alongside the cooking show as before. (Teresa Toth)
